Sequoia packaging box successfully passed the TOMRA equipment test, helping to speed up the upgrade of blueberry automated packaging

2025 05/07

In May 2025, the Sequoia Enterprise team visited a modern processing plant of a cooperative customer located in a domestic blueberry producing area, and witnessed the successful operation of our PET fruit box on the TOMRA sorting and packaging equipment, marking that our packaging products have taken a solid step in the integrated solution of "intelligent sorting + automatic packaging".

Accurate adaptation to achieve seamless connection of automated packaging
As a world-renowned brand of food intelligent sorting equipment, TOMRA is at the leading level in the industry in terms of fruit grading, defect detection, and precise feeding. The Sequoia fruit box showed good mechanical adaptability and stability during the equipment trial - no jamming, no wrong feeding, accurate sealing cover adaptation, and smooth completion of the automated process from fruit tray placement, weighing, boxing, labeling, etc.

This test not only reflects Sequoia's strict control of product size standardization and structural strength, but also further verifies the high compatibility of our products in actual application scenarios. The smooth operation of automated equipment has greatly reduced customers' reliance on manual sorting and packaging, and improved efficiency and food safety.

"Smart packaging" trend under the blueberry boom
In recent years, the domestic blueberry planting area has expanded rapidly and entered a concentrated market period. According to industry data, China's total blueberry production will exceed 500,000 tons in 2024, and export demand will continue to grow. Faced with such a huge output, traditional manual sorting and packaging can no longer meet the dual needs of efficiency and cost control.

The introduction of smart equipment such as TOMRA, coupled with food-grade recyclable PET fruit boxes such as Sequoia, not only solves the pain points of integrated sorting, packaging and display, but also caters to the current market demand for sustainable packaging. For example, the 125g, 250g, 500g and other multi-specification blueberry fruit boxes we provide are convenient for transportation and retail display.

Deep cooperation to build a "from farm to table" solution
Sequoia will continue to work closely with upstream and downstream partners such as agricultural bases, processing plants, and equipment manufacturers to conduct joint research and development around fruit characteristics and packaging standards, and tailor a smarter and more environmentally friendly overall packaging solution for customers.

This visit and exchange also laid a good foundation for further cooperation between the two parties in the future. We believe that with the continuous advancement of agricultural modernization, Sequoia will continue to contribute more to the "smart fruit packaging" track.
